David E. Simmons is an associate attorney at McNaughton & Associates, PLLC. Mr. Simmons received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was an officer in Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. David pursued his J.D. at North Carolina Central University School of Law, graduating cum laude in the top 15% of his class. David gained real world experience as a summer clerk at Womble, Carlyle, Sandridge & Rice, PLLC in summer 2008. David has extensive courtroom experience representing indigent clients as a court appointed attorney.

David jumped right in and is involved in the legal community and has joined the American Subcontractors of the Carolinas, the Associated Builders and Contractors, and the United Minority Contractors of North Carolina. David has written articles regarding NC construction issues. He has also set-up and assisted clients with HUB and woman-owned business issues.

A native North Carolinian, David grew up on a farm in Clinton, NC and enjoys following UNC basketball and football. He is currently engaged and is planning his wedding, as well as, building a new home in Charlotte.
